From the Baseball Academy, Softball Academy, Basketball Academy and our newest member, our NFL Flag Santa Monica football academy! Currently the Varsity softball coach at Marymount high school, he as taken his experience and knowledge to help turn the program around and building a championship attitude for the future!

Our Programs
Coach Wes lead a series of lectures at KAUS University in Kyoto, Japan. Out of that relationship, SMBA has been hosting future coaches in our college internship program for five years with international students coming each summer to train and learn under Coach Wes at our summer camps for baseball, softball and multisports!

Her background in athletics and coaching helps her create engaging, supportive, and well-run programs for young athletes. She is passionate about building confidence, teamwork, and a positive sports experience for every player at SMSA.

Coach Landon is the assistant Santa Monica Baseball Academy 8U coach and coaches the SMBA summer camps and skills clinic. A former varsity player, he brings his knowledge and passion to every camp and practice and game!
He loves flag football, and happens to be one heck of a Disc Golf player!

Coach Minaya Olivo, is a certified personal trainer and former Division I football player at UCLA. He is the son of former major league catcher Miguel Olivo, who played professional baseball for over 10 years. He has been surrounded by high-level athletics his entire life. His background as a multi-sport athlete and coach allows him to identify and focus on strength, performance, and discipline while helping players develop their skills on and off the field. His goal is to guide young athletes toward sustainable progress, confidence, and success in the game with SMSA!

Coach Darian is a former high school multi sport varsity player whose positive coaching and passion for the game in both football and basketball has been a wonderful asset to our coaching family! He coaches our basketball skills camps, does play by play for SMBA Game Day and coaches our camps!

Coach Tamba is a former Division 1 athlete who was a captain in his senior year. A multi sport athlete in high school, he is also the Head Coach for Culver City Flag Football. He has been training youth sports from ages 4 -18 for over 6 years and brings his passion and wealth of knowledge to SMBA!

Coach Taira is a former varsity high school player who led her team and was voted Team Captain. Currently in college at Clark Atlanta University, she spends her summer and winter off seasons coaching SMSBA camps, assistant coaching the SMSBA 12U team and coaching skill clinics. She brings a tremendous positive coaching environment to her approach and her passion for coaching and teaching shines!

Coach Max is a veteran baseball player and athlete with 16 years experience in athletics and 5 years coaching for SMBA. He is a scholar athlete with high honors, leadership and athletic awards. He played High School baseball and was a part of the Chicago Cubs Scout team and PCCL Collegiate League. He also played High School basketball and participated in a travel team coached by LA Laker legend Michael Cooper. Currently Coach Max coaches at SMSA, attends Cal Lutheran University and is an assistant with the head basketball coach of Cal Lutheran University. He believes sports can lead young athletes to success academically, while learning valuable life lessons of hard work, leadership, and competition with a positive mindset at SMSA!
